FLASHBACK: Hot Hollywood

Today is a celebration of old Hollywood and the young stars of America who made the Movie Industry an exciting place to be! Or an excuse to look at some hot people from the 1950's and their awesome original style...

James Dean

Oooohhhh James Dean, the icon of Men's 50's style and the bad boy persona. Boys take note of his effortless charm, and his three key looks, the leather jacket, the bomber jacket and the pea coat. Oh and jeans of course. The ultimate poster boy for old Hollywood, and many bedroom walls!

Marilyn Monroe

So we could never leave Marilyn Monroe out of the equation, the glamorous and sweet star of the 50's, with curves to die for. But it was when Marilyn was dressed in her cute polo necks that she looked her hottest, teamed with fitted trousers or aline skirts, she looked demure and amazingggggg!!

Marlon Brando

Marlon Brando aka 'The Wild One', another fan of the leather jacket but this time it's all about teaming it with the classic t-shirt and a baker boy hat. Maybe don't write your name on yours though, cute in the movies but not so much in real life! (Also how good does he look in that first image).

Audrey Hepburn

Audrey Hepburn and her little elfin face is our final Hot Hollywood star. Audrey had a style that was elegant and graceful but with a little playful touch that now looks so contemporary. With perfect hair hair and eyebrows, and that cute hat in the first image, she looks like a modern day star!

Fancy a little more Hollywood inspiration, then check out the looks of Brigitte Bardot, Tab Hunter, Patricia Neal, Tony Curtis, Janet Leigh, Steve McQueen, Sandy Dennis, Lee Remick...

FLASHBACK: The Movie Gang

A Flashback to the movie gangs that we wished we were a part of! From co-ordinated clothing, issues of the heart and group trials and tribulations the movie gang always comes out on top in the end.

Empire Records (1995)

Liv Tyler heads a group of workers that start out bickering but join together to save their beloved record store. Each character has their own distinct looks, from shaved heads, grungey guys and Liv's famous fluffy jumper and kilt combo. A Saturday job at Empire Records would have been the enviable position  in the nineties.

Clueless (1995)

We couldn't leave out the quintessential 90's movie, where Cher, Dionne and Tai are the best dressed girls in school and have wardrobes to die for! From tartan, leopard print, and mohair to the skater, preppy and casual styles of Travis, Christian and Josh, the film is all about fashion and friendship, ending in true love for all the girls, awww!

Lords of Dogtown (2005)

70's skater style is in abundance in this movie based on the story of The Z Boys revolutionising the sport of skateboarding. Plus Heath Ledger is a member of the gang so that kinda says it all really!

The Mighty Ducks (1992)

Ok so they may be kids, but they had such a good time becoming The Mighty Ducks! Plus looking back they were pretty darn well dressed, in their plaid shirts, snapbacks and geometric print bombers. Ice Hockey never looked so good!

Grease (1978)

Pink Ladies and T-Birds were what is was all about at Rydell High. Pink bombers and leather jackets were the style staples and riding about in pimped up cars was obviously the thing to do! Who wouldn't want to be part of these gangs and ruuuuuule the schoooooool...
