We are going to look at the history of Glastonbury in pictures and see why it holds a piece of your heart once you have been despite the bad weather, bad hygiene and effort it takes to get hold of tickets.
GORGEOUS UNTOUCHED GLASTONBURY RIDGE 1970
THE EVER GROWING MAP OF GLASTONBURY FESTIVAL 1990
No matter what the weather or what bands you might get to see it is clear that the Glastonbury experience also involves Fashion. There is no getting away with it really. Surrounded by the ultimate fashion tribe with the likes of Kate Moss, Pixie Geldof, Florence Welsh, Daisy Lowe, Alexa Chung and pretty much everyone we (COW) may look to for outfit inspiration, you have to be festival ready from head to toe!
The clothes are the only things that don't change that much through the years, maybe we actually wear more clothes nowadays than the free, fun loving hippies of the 1970's.
Starting from the mud up.. a hefty boot or wellington is essential. Keeping covered with summer pieces like floral dresses, playsuits, denim shorts, loose vests and sweatshirts. On top of those the ultimate weather protectors such as hoodies, leather jackets, ponchos and army jackets. Most likely to be in camouflage print, fringing or maybe a full on print so your friends don't lose you! If you have been to pretty much any festival before you know how important these layers are for when the British Summer weather does change 5 times throughout the day.
Or take a leaf out of Lily Allen's book and jazz it up with some sequins and embellishment! And a wig.. if you want.
We are here to help you prepare for such turmoil. We know the festival begins round about now but if you are stepping out into the mud late then make sure you run into COW for your last minute needs!
Pop into your nearest stores now before it's too late!! Or visit WWW.WEARECOW.COM to pick up your festival outfits.
