Halloween is creeping up now and that fancy dress party is looming. A little party checklist though.. Outfit? Fake blood? Carved pumpkins? Skull cups? Ghastly cocktails? Iceland novelty party foods? There's just that last thing to organise and that's the monstrous music!! Here is a Flashback to some of the most horror(fying) songs and videos to match!
We have been discussing this weeks Flashback and we have reeled through a lot of funny memories but decided to go with Heartbreak High.
The Australian TV Series ran from 1994 -1999. The whole series followed the group made up of your usual crew of babes, hotties, hunks, the hippies, the alternative ones and we followed their day to day life of fun and frolics living near the Ozzie beach. Their home life, love lives, teenage struggles, dreams, happiness and sadness. It was griping and while we were sat at home in our probably rainy British homes it gave you a sense of excitement and fantasy and you couldn't wait to see what they did next. It was such a good cast and almost everyone you knew had a favourite and looked up to and more than likely definitely fell in love with at least one of them.. Here were our favourite characters:

He had an eyebrow piercing, he rollerbladed, he lived in a warehouse. We're going to say it, we're still kind of pining for this guy.
After so much controversy this week with the VMA's hosting the twerking fiasco and foam finger action we are looking back to a much more innocent time when people were just young and happy and double denim outfits were the most controversial topics. Today our Flashback is the original couple of smiles Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake. The pair met at a very young age at the Mickey Mouse Club and with butter wouldn't melt faces and cute as a button personas they hit our TV screens with their dance routines and bad acting which led to their music careers in the early 90's.
It wasn't until 1999 when they actually got together and shared all of their love for one another openly with magazine deals, public displays of affection at Award Ceremonies and sports games. They were totally ahead of the times with their in fashion sportswear and if only we could all have his and hers "Stinky and Pinky" personalised basketball vests!
They publicly broke it off in 2002 (who cried?) Then Justin went off to write the Number One hit Cry Me A River and was quoted by telling audiences "Sometimes in life, you think you found the one. But then one day you find out that she is just some bitch," OUCH! Bit harsh Justin!
The couple live on in our hearts and also quite heavily on Tumblr but we will never really get over our first love for the 90's super couple. Long live Brustin!!
Remember when Summer's were all about chasing ice cream trucks and water fights with your friends and your mum and dad shouting at you to put some shoes on. It seems Summer days now are all about trying for the perfect tan or choosing from which 10 selfie pics to upload. Our Flashbacks are going to be a shot back in time when we all had less to worry about and a lot more lolz! We will be revisiting old music, couples, movies, heartthrobs, heartbreakers and moments that we may have forgotten.
Today we have been talking about The Great Gatsby which we have decided was good but just didn't cut it as Baz's best movie. We all agreed that title has to go to Romeo and Juliet! With the young, fresh faced Leo and pretty, angelic Claire Danes in the nostalgic 'In Love But Can't Be Together' torment storyline, filmed beautifully and complete with a timeless soundtrack (also better than Gatsby's).
This is probably one of our favourite films of all time and a great start to our Flashback series.
1996 maybe before your time or if, like some of us, you can remember the feeling you had when you first watched it and it only feels like a few years ago, here is a little reminder to what you've been missing since the last time you pressed play, sang along and cried like a baby.
We highly recommend seeing this and enjoying the roller coaster of emotion as well as the breath taking scenes, costumes, colours and music throughout.
