FLASHBACK: Teen Nightmares

It's finally October, our favourite month of the year! Golden leaves on the floor, new boots on your feet, new coats on your back and fancy dress planned with fun to be had! Of course it's Halloween! The time of year when you can look deep into your darkest side, dress up and act like a gaul!

On the run up to Halloween our Flashback series will take a darker twist and we will look at those movies, costumes and sounds that at one time made you cover your eyes or gave you the shivers!
Today we're remembering the first time we watched, what felt like the scariest films ever but actually just classic spooky, movies from a younger age.

HOCUS POCUS
Kinda cute looking but flying witches.. err scary.

THE WITCHES
You think it's going well and it's Roald Dahl so surely it's not scary... then she rips her hair and face off! Arghh!!

THE CRAFT
A group of school girls who take bullying to the next level.
With the 'Light as a feather,  stiff as a board' trick we've all tried at a sleepover?!

BEETLEJUICE
Winona Ryder (goth) brings out the best of her new house!

EDWARD SCISSORHANDS
Young, troubled boy struggling to fit into a normal life. Shame Tumblr wasn't around at the time.

FLASHBACK: Heartbreak High

We have been discussing this weeks Flashback and we have reeled through a lot of funny memories but decided to go with Heartbreak High.

The Australian TV Series ran from 1994 -1999. The whole series followed the group made up of your usual crew of babes, hotties, hunks, the hippies, the alternative ones and we followed their day to day life of fun and frolics living near the Ozzie beach. Their home life, love lives, teenage struggles, dreams, happiness and sadness. It was griping and while we were sat at home in our probably rainy British homes it gave you a sense of excitement and fantasy and you couldn't wait to see what they did next.

It was such a good cast and almost everyone you knew had a favourite and looked up to and more than likely definitely fell in love with at least one of them.. Here were our favourite characters:

ANITA

RIVERS

MAI

DENNIS

KATERINA

RYAN

AND OF COURSE.. DRAZIC!!!
He had an eyebrow piercing, he rollerbladed, he lived in a warehouse. We're going to say it, we're still kind of pining for this guy.

Oh the good ol' days eh?!
Who was your favourite?

James Quaintance - Get The Look

Every now and again people come into the public eye and you know they will definitely make a mark on us all. Whether it is in Fashion, Art, Movies, or Music, for decades we have been intrigued with an particular attitude and style that we undoubtably want to be involved in.

Today we are looking at the newest member of this group, model and skateboarder James Quaintance who's cocky, rebellious attitude and ability to mix old school style to classic gent to sportswear in the blink of an eye. Here at COW we all agree he has the charisma, attitude and style to pull off a long lasting style icon name for himself and we are looking at how to get this look.

COW is a haven of vintage clothes and accessories so, like James Quaintance, you can build up your own style using clothes once used for previous subcultures. Here are some of our favourite pieces we have chosen, inspired by James Quaintance but for you to wear how you wish!
